چکیده

This paper describes a method for propagation-based spacial interpolation of missing color information on satellite images. Most of the land-observation satellites produce two types of imagery for every scene multispectral and panchromatic. The first kind is characterized by lower spatial resolution but higher spectral one, while the second is a graylevel image at higher resolution. In order to get full color visualization of a scene the high-resolution panchromatic image must be combined with lowresolution color information taken from the multispectral bands. This process is called pansharpening. In this paper the new method for pansharpening is proposed. It combines chrominance propagation with kernel interpolation. Thanks to the propagation step, the method properly reconstructs color information and does not blur the edges on color channels.

Pansharpening of Multispectral Satellite Images via Lattice Structures

Since satellite images with high spatial and spectral quality are highly desired for remote sensing applications, various algorithms have been developed for the fusion of multispectral and panchromatic images. Wavelet transform based mergers have found enormous interest in the fusion community. This paper introduces undecimated filterbanks with lattice structure and applies them to the pansharp...

Interactive Pansharpening and Active Classification in Remote Sensing

This paper presents two multimodal prototypes for remote sensing image classification where user interaction is an important part of the system. The first one applies pansharpening techniques to fuse information from different satellite sensors to obtain a high resolution (HR) multispectral image. Once the HR image has been classified the user can interact with the system to select a class of i...

Satellite Image Pansharpening Using a Hybrid Approach for Object-Based Image Analysis

Intensity-Hue-Saturation (IHS), Brovey Transform (BT), and Smoothing-FilterBased-Intensity Modulation (SFIM) algorithms were used to pansharpen GeoEye-1 imagery. The pansharpened images were then segmented in Berkeley Image Seg using a wide range of segmentation parameters, and the spatial and spectral accuracy of image segments was measured. We found that pansharpening algorithms that preserve...

An IHS based Multiscale Pansharpening Technique using Wavelet based Image Fusion and Saliency Detection

With the advent of remote sensing, the requirement of high resolution images that can provide high quality spectral and spatial information has increased. Due to cost and circuitry issues, the satellite sensors are capable of providing either multispectral (MS) images with high spectral and low spatial resolution or Panchromatic (pan) images with high spatial and low spectral resolution. Pansha...

Pansharpening on the Narrow Vnir and Swir Spectral Bands of Sentinel-2

In this paper results from the evaluation of several state-of-the-art pansharpening techniques are presented for the VNIR and SWIR bands of Sentinel-2. A procedure for the pansharpening is also proposed which aims at respecting the closest spectral similarities between the higher and lower resolution bands. The evaluation included 21 different fusion algorithms and three evaluation frameworks b...
